Registration Instructions

The conference committee has found an outstanding location at an affordable price.  Please join us at the conference.

Three-Day Conference  The three-day conference begins at supper on Friday evening and runs through lunch on Monday.  Registration includes all program, overnight accommodation and food cards for those three days

Day Fee The day rate includes conference program for one day.  One or more $20 food cards can be purchased with advance registration.

Friday Full-Day Program  The Trauma Healing and Advanced Facilitation Workshops will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday. To register for Trauma Healing, Advanced Facilitation or the Sing Sing tour, please add one “Day Fee” to your conference registration.    You should register for an “Extra Night” if you will be arriving Thursday.  The “extra night” includes both room and a one-day food card for Thursday/Friday meals 

Accommodations  Single or double occupancy rooms with communal bathroom facilities are available.  The rooms are not air conditioned. Linens are included in the room fee.

Registration is limited to individuals over 18 years old. Please complete one registration form per person.

Meals   Meals at Adelphi will be ala carte, providing maximum flexibility to meet individual dietary preferences.  Vegan, meat, and gluten-free options will be available at every meal.  The salad bar and deli/grill enrich the diversity of options.   Each night booked in the dorm includes a $20 food card which can be used in the cafeteria or coffee shop throughout the conference.  Overnighters who anticipate larger-than-average food  purchases and day-attendees (whose registration fees do not include meals) are invited to purchase  additional food cards on their registration forms.  Cash is accepted at the cafeteria and coffee-shop, but tax is added to those purchases.

Refund Policy Your registration fee will be refunded if the registrar is notified before April 24. Refunds after this date will be reviewed by AVP New York and AVP-USA. Refunds will not be given for “no shows.”

Registration Transfers If you cannot attend, you may transfer your registration to another person at no charge. The registrar must be notified by May 15

Scholarship Fund Donations Needed

We need your help so we can offer more scholarships for ex-prisoners and first-time attendees. Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution. Your region may also wish to donate. Thanks for your help.

Partial Scholarship Assistance

AVP-USA has scholarship funds available to assist those who could otherwise not afford to attend the conference. Scholarship grants for registration costs and travel expenses will be awarded based on the applicant’s statement of need.

Priority will be given to National Officers and Committee Clerks, National Committee Members, Ex-prisoners and First time attenders. Applicants will be asked to make some contribution to the cost of their attendance and to indicate how their participation in the conference will strengthen their local organization.

To apply, complete a scholarship request form and submit it to your local group. Your local will make their recommendation and indicate what funds they can contribute. The scholarship form, together with your registration form, should then be submitted to the Registrar. Do not send money with your registration. Grants will be approved on a revolving basis.
